Discord Music Bot with Web Interface: Vocard

Hey folks! I found this cool music bot for Discord that I’ve been using for a while. It’s called Vocard and it’s pretty awesome.

Vocard is a self-hosted bot that you can run using Docker or Python. It’s super easy to use. When you’re hanging out with friends in a voice channel, you can ask the bot to join and play some tunes for everyone.

What’s cool about Vocard:

  • It has a slick web dashboard for managing your music
  • It works with Discord slash commands
  • It’s open-source with an MIT license

The bot works great even without the web dashboard, which is a new feature. You can install it separately if you want.

I think more people should know about this bot. It’s been around for a bit but doesn’t have many stars on GitHub. If you’re looking for a music bot for your server, give Vocard a try!

Thanks for sharing about Vocard! I’ve actually been using it for a few months now on my server and can confirm it’s fantastic. The web dashboard is a game-changer - makes queuing up songs so much easier than typing commands.

One thing I really appreciate is how stable it’s been. We used to use other music bots that would constantly disconnect or have issues, but Vocard has been rock solid. The audio quality is great too.

For anyone considering it, the setup process is pretty straightforward if you’re comfortable with Docker. Took me maybe 15 minutes to get it up and running.

Only minor gripe is I wish it had better playlist management features. But overall, definitely recommend giving it a try if you’re looking for a reliable music bot option.

I’ve been using Vocard for a few weeks now, and I must say it’s quite impressive. The integration with Discord’s slash commands is seamless, making it intuitive for users who aren’t tech-savvy. What sets it apart for me is the audio quality - it’s noticeably better than other bots I’ve tried.

One aspect I particularly appreciate is its resource efficiency. Unlike some other bots that can be resource hogs, Vocard runs smoothly without putting much strain on my server. This is crucial for those of us running multiple applications on the same machine.

While the web interface is indeed a nice touch, I’ve found the Discord commands sufficient for most needs. It’s worth noting that the documentation is quite comprehensive, which helped me troubleshoot a minor issue I encountered during setup.

Overall, Vocard has become an essential part of our server’s social experience. It’s refreshing to see such a well-crafted, open-source project in this space.
