Hey everyone,
I just saw that Zapier launched a new feature called MCP. It looks really cool and got me thinking about n8n. Does anyone know if n8n has something like this?
I’m curious because it seems like it could be a game-changer. Imagine being able to call n8n MCP from within n8n itself. That would open up so many possibilities!
Has anyone heard any news about n8n working on something similar? Or do you think they might add this kind of feature in the future?
I’d love to hear your thoughts on this. It could really change how we use n8n for automation tasks. Let me know what you think!
I’ve been using n8n for a while now, and while they don’t have an exact MCP equivalent, there are some workarounds that can achieve similar results. One technique I’ve found useful is creating a ‘master workflow’ that acts as a central hub. This workflow can call other workflows using the ‘Execute Workflow’ node, allowing for a modular approach.
Another trick is leveraging the HTTP Request node to call n8n’s own API. This lets you trigger workflows externally or even from within other workflows, giving you a lot of flexibility. It’s not as straightforward as Zapier’s MCP, but with some creativity, you can build some pretty powerful systems.
That said, I wouldn’t be surprised if n8n is already working on something similar. They’re usually pretty quick to adapt to new trends in the automation space. Keep an eye on their roadmap!
I haven’t heard of n8n developing a direct equivalent to Zapier’s MCP feature yet. However, n8n does offer some powerful capabilities that might serve similar purposes. For instance, you can use subflows and function nodes to create modular, reusable components within your workflows. This allows for a degree of abstraction and reusability, though perhaps not as streamlined as MCP.
That said, n8n is actively developed and constantly evolving. They’re pretty responsive to user needs and industry trends. It wouldn’t surprise me if they’re already considering something along these lines for future releases. If you’re really keen on this functionality, you might want to submit a feature request on their GitHub repository. The n8n team is generally quite open to community input.
yo, i dont think n8n has anything exactly like zapers MCP yet. but n8n is pretty flexible with its nodes and workflows. you can kinda build similar stuff using custom functions and subflows. maybe they’ll add something like that in the future tho. keep an eye on their updates!
