Weird timing - same thing happened to me last month. Optimizely probably left some hooks behind even after you deactivated it. Switch to a default theme temporarily and test your download shortcodes. Sometimes plugins mess with functions.php and break things. Also double-check your downloads are actually published in the backend, not just sitting there.
