E-ink Device Syncing with Cloud Storage

Hey everyone,

I’m thinking about getting the Boox Go 10.3 e-ink device. My main goal is to start journaling and writing notes for my kids to read when they’re older.

I’m wondering how cloud storage works with this device. Can anyone tell me if it syncs automatically with Google Drive? Or do I have to manually export files as PDFs?

Also, if I write something and sync it, then add more to it later, will it update the existing file or create a new one?

Any advice on the best way to manage my notes would be great. Thanks!

hey, i have the boox note air 2 and it works decnt with cloud storage.
you gotta manuall export to google drive or use boox cloud.
updates usually add as new files instead of overwritin. try the built-in note app and keep a backup.

I’ve been using the Boox Note Air for about a year now, and I can share some insights on cloud syncing. While it’s not as seamless as we might hope, there are workarounds.

The device doesn’t automatically sync with Google Drive, but you can set up a manual sync process. I usually export my files as PDFs at the end of each week. It’s a bit of a hassle, but it ensures I have backups.

As for updating existing files, I’ve found it’s better to treat each writing session as a new entry. This way, you have a chronological record of your thoughts, which might be interesting for your kids to see how your ideas evolved over time.

For managing notes, I recommend using the built-in note-taking app and organizing your thoughts into folders by date or topic. This makes it easier to find and export specific entries later on.

It’s not perfect, but the writing experience on e-ink is worth the extra steps for cloud management, in my opinion.

I’ve been using the Boox Go 10.3 for a few months now, and I can share some insights on cloud storage functionality. Unfortunately, automatic syncing with Google Drive isn’t available. You’ll need to manually export your files, which can be a bit time-consuming.

For file updates, the device typically creates new versions rather than overwriting existing ones. This can be beneficial for tracking changes over time, but it requires more active management on your part.

To streamline your note-taking process, I recommend using the native note-taking app and establishing a consistent export routine. Perhaps set aside time weekly to transfer your files to your preferred cloud storage. While not ideal, this method ensures your work is regularly backed up and accessible across devices.

Despite these limitations, the e-ink writing experience is excellent, and the device serves well for long-term journaling projects.
