Hey folks! I thought it might be helpful to share a simple guide on setting up YouTube ReVanced. This is for those who aren’t too tech-savvy but want to enjoy an ad-free YouTube experience.
What You Need
- An Android phone or tablet (version 8 or newer)
- Some free space on your device
Steps to Follow
-
Get the ReVanced Manager app from their website. Make sure it’s the latest version.
-
Find and download the right YouTube APK. Don’t install it yet! Just save it on your phone.
-
Open ReVanced Manager and give it permission to install apps.
-
In the app’s settings, turn off ‘Save patched app’ to avoid any issues.
-
Go to the Patcher tab and pick the YouTube APK you downloaded.
-
Hit the Patch button and wait for it to finish. Don’t close the app while it’s working.
-
When it’s done, tap Install. You might need to allow installation from unknown sources.
-
If you need ReVanced GmsCore, the app will tell you how to get it.
That’s it! You should now have YouTube ReVanced up and running. Remember to check the settings in the app to customize your experience.
To update in the future, just repeat these steps with the newest YouTube APK. No need to uninstall anything first.
Hope this helps make your YouTube viewing better!
Indeed, YouTube ReVanced is compatible with Android tablets, including older Samsung models. I’ve successfully used it on a Galaxy Tab S2 from 2015. Just ensure your tablet runs Android 8 or newer, as mentioned in the guide. The installation process is identical to phones. One advantage of using it on a tablet is the larger screen for a better viewing experience. Keep in mind that performance might vary depending on your tablet’s specifications. If you encounter any issues, the ReVanced subreddit is a helpful resource for troubleshooting. Overall, repurposing your old tablet as a dedicated YouTube device with ReVanced is an excellent idea to breathe new life into older hardware.
thx for the guide! i’ve been wanting to try revanced but was scared of messing up my phone. quick question tho - does this work on tablets too? got an old samsung tab lying around and thought it might be cool to use it as a dedicated youtube machine
Great guide, Ethan! I’ve been using ReVanced for a while now, and it’s been a game-changer. One thing I’d add from my experience is to be careful with updates. Sometimes newer versions can introduce bugs or compatibility issues. I usually wait a week or two after a new release before updating, just to make sure any major issues are ironed out.
Also, for those worried about battery life, I’ve found that ReVanced actually uses less battery than the official YouTube app, probably because it’s not constantly loading ads. My phone easily lasts a couple hours longer when I’m binge-watching videos now.
Lastly, don’t forget to explore the additional features ReVanced offers, like background playback and picture-in-picture mode. They’re not enabled by default, but they’re incredibly useful once you turn them on in the settings. Happy streaming, everyone!
