Facebook stories missing most custom Giphy stickers while Instagram displays all of them

I’m experiencing a strange problem with my custom Giphy stickers on various platforms. On Instagram stories, I can see all 14 of my custom stickers without any issues. They load fine and function as they should.

However, when I check Facebook stories, only 2 out of the 14 appear. The remaining stickers are entirely absent from the list. I’ve verified my settings, and everything seems to be set up the same on both platforms.

Has anyone else encountered this issue? I wonder if this is a syncing problem between Instagram and Facebook or if there is a different approval process for Facebook. These stickers have been active for some time, so I doubt it’s just a timing issue.

I’d really appreciate any advice on how to resolve this or insights into what might be causing the difference between the two platforms.

yeah, same thing happened to me last year. facebook’s algorithm is way pickier than instagram’s for some reason. delete the missing stickers and re-upload them through giphy - a fresh upload sometimes gets facebook’s system to actually review them properly.

Had this exact problem 6 months ago with my brand’s custom stickers. Facebook has a separate content moderation queue for stickers, even though Meta owns both platforms. Some of your stickers probably got flagged for extra review on Facebook’s side - no notification, of course. I had to contact Giphy support directly and ask for a manual review of the missing stickers for Facebook integration. Took 2-3 weeks, but eventually all my stickers showed up on both platforms. There’s no clear reason why some go through instantly while others get stuck in limbo. Reach out to Giphy support with the specific sticker IDs that aren’t showing on Facebook. They can see what’s happening and speed things up.

Perfect case for automation - stop chasing support tickets and waiting weeks for responses.

I’ve hit similar sync issues at work. Each platform has different API endpoints and approval workflows, even under the same company. Tracking multiple content pieces manually becomes a nightmare.

You need automated monitoring that checks sticker availability across platforms daily. Set up workflows to catch when content vanishes on one platform but stays live on another. Then auto-trigger the right API calls or support requests.

Built something like this for our marketing team when content kept disappearing across social platforms. Automation catches these problems instantly instead of waiting for someone to notice.

You can also automate resubmissions for stickers stuck in Facebook’s review queue. Way better than the support ticket waiting game.

Latenode handles cross-platform integrations really well. Build workflows that monitor your content status across Instagram and Facebook APIs, then auto-fix issues when they pop up.

Facebook and Instagram run completely different sticker systems. I’ve dealt with this during product launches.

They don’t share the same database for custom content, even though they’re both Meta properties. Your stickers passed Instagram’s approval but Facebook has its own separate process.

Facebook probably flagged some stickers for extra review based on different content policies. They’re stricter about certain visuals or text overlays that Instagram allows.

I’ve seen company campaigns where animated stickers worked fine on Instagram but got stuck on Facebook for weeks. No clear pattern for what triggers it.

Your fastest fix: submit a direct appeal through Facebook Business Support, not Giphy support. Include screenshots showing the stickers work on Instagram and list the specific missing sticker names.

Facebook’s review team can manually push them through once they see the inconsistency. Takes 3-5 business days versus weeks through other channels.

Also check if your missing stickers have flashing effects or rapid transitions. Facebook flags those more than Instagram does.
