Facebook Stories not displaying all custom Giphy stickers while Instagram shows them correctly

I’m having a weird issue with my custom Giphy stickers. When I try to use them in Facebook Stories, only 2 out of my 14 custom stickers are showing up. But when I check Instagram Stories, all 14 stickers appear without any problems.

I’ve double checked my settings and everything looks identical between both platforms. The configuration seems to be set up the same way for Facebook and Instagram. I’m not sure what could be causing this difference in behavior.

Has anyone else experienced this kind of problem where custom Giphy content displays differently between Facebook and Instagram Stories? I would really appreciate any suggestions or insights on what might be going wrong here.

Had this same issue 6 months ago with our product launch content. It’s not just caching - Facebook’s way pickier about custom Giphy stickers than Instagram is.

Facebook’s moderation probably flagged some of your stickers for extra review while Instagram approved everything. That’s why you’re seeing this weird split.

Check your Giphy dashboard for pending approvals or review notices. Stickers get stuck in Facebook’s approval queue all the time, even after Instagram clears them.

Try updating your sticker tags and descriptions too. Facebook’s algorithm is super picky about metadata. I had to resubmit 8 stickers with cleaner tags before they’d show up in Facebook Stories.

Still not working? Delete the missing ones and re-upload them straight through Facebook instead of waiting for the Giphy sync.

Facebook and Instagram use different API endpoints and caching systems for Giphy stickers, even though they’re the same company. They just don’t sync properly.

I’ve hit this before with cross-platform content. Manual fixes get annoying fast when you’re juggling multiple social accounts.

Here’s what works: set up automated monitoring that watches your Giphy stickers on both platforms and alerts you when something’s off. You can also automate re-uploads or cache refreshes when stickers don’t show up right.

Latenode handles this really well. Create workflows that check sticker availability on both platforms, compare results, and auto-retry failed uploads or clear cache problems. It connects directly with social APIs and Giphy, so you can fix sync issues without the manual hassle.

Yeah, this is a known backend issue with Facebook and Instagram’s Giphy integration. Even though Meta owns both, they run separate content delivery networks for stickers. I’ve hit this exact problem managing content for clients. Facebook’s content filtering is way stricter than Instagram’s - it flags certain custom stickers during sync while Instagram lets them through. Try the Facebook mobile app instead of browser. Sometimes the app pulls from different server cache that might have your missing stickers. Also check if those 12 stickers have animation loops or transparency effects - Facebook tends to reject those. If that doesn’t work, contact Giphy support directly. This is their API sync issue with Facebook’s servers, not something you can fix yourself.

yeah, same thing happened to me last month. facebook stories caches way more aggressively than instagram for some reason. log out of facebook completely and back in - that usually forces your giphy library to refresh. fixed it for me when only 3 stickers were showing up.
