I’m having a weird issue with Figma text styling that I can’t seem to fix.
While working on my design, I was using the duplicate shortcut (holding option and dragging) to copy some elements multiple times. After doing this, something strange happened to all my text layers - they suddenly changed to have no fill color at all.
The really frustrating part is that this problem follows me everywhere. Even when I start a completely fresh Figma file and add brand new text, it still appears without any fill. I can modify the font family and switch between different weights like Bold or Light, and those changes work fine. But no matter what I do, the text remains invisible because it has no fill color.
I’ve tried using the undo function extensively, going all the way back to when I first opened the file, but the issue persists. This makes me think it might be some kind of software glitch rather than something I accidentally changed in my specific project.
Does anyone know how to reset text formatting back to the default black fill? I just want my text to be visible again with normal black color.
I encountered a similar issue with Figma a while ago where my default text styling seemed to malfunction. To fix it, I accessed the text properties panel and reset the fill color to solid black. It was also important to create a new text style based on the corrected layer and eliminate the corrupted one from my local styles. Instead of just adjusting a few text layers, ensuring the default text style was updated made a significant difference. Additionally, it’s wise to verify if any team libraries might be interfering with your local styles and causing this formatting issue.
Yes, this issue with text fill color in Figma can be quite frustrating. It’s likely due to a bug that affects text layers, resulting in transparent fills. First, review your text styles in the Assets panel to ensure nothing has been altered. If the default settings seem fine, consider creating a fresh text layer and manually apply the fill color to black (#000000). Should the problem persist, logging out and back in might resolve the glitch. If these steps fail, reaching out to Figma support is advisable.
hey, you might wanna try resetting the styles in the right panel, could help get that black fill back. also, check if any layer effects r messing things up - good luck!
Sounds like a browser cache issue. Had the exact same thing happen two months ago - text rendering without fill across multiple files. Cleared my browser cache completely and restarted, which fixed it. If you’re on desktop, try switching to web (or vice versa) to see if it still happens. Figma sometimes stores corrupted style data locally that needs clearing out. Also check if any browser extensions are messing with Figma’s rendering.
had this exact issue last week! super annoying. i fixed it by going to edit > select all with same fill, then manually changed the fill to black. figma just glitches out sometimes.
