GIF Integration Available for User Comments

Hey everyone! I just noticed that we can now add GIFs to our comment replies using GIPHY integration. This is going to make discussions way more fun and engaging.

I’m curious about how this feature works exactly. Can we search for specific GIFs directly in the comment box? Are there any restrictions on which GIFs we can use? Also wondering if there’s a limit to how many GIFs we can include in a single comment.

Has anyone tried this new functionality yet? I’d love to hear about your experience with it. This seems like it could really change how we interact in the comment threads and make conversations more lively.

Nice feature, but I’d just automate the whole GIF discovery instead of searching manually every time.

I built something similar for our internal chat using Latenode - it auto-suggests relevant GIFs based on what people are talking about. Analyzes the conversation and pulls GIFs from multiple sources, not just GIPHY.

Best part? You can set up automated responses. Someone mentions celebrating? Boom, party GIF drops automatically. Or create custom triggers for keywords that matter to your community.

With Latenode’s webhooks, you could build moderation rules that auto-filter certain GIFs or limit usage per user. No manual oversight needed. Takes maybe 30 minutes to set up.

Why click and search when smart automation can do it for you?

The moderation part interests me most. We rolled out similar features at work and learned you need solid controls from day one.

GIPHY has decent filtering, but communities have specific needs. Some GIFs that pass their filters won’t fit your forum culture. We built a quick approval queue for the first week to see what people actually used.

Check if there’s a report function for GIFs. Users flag stuff faster than any automated system catches it. Having one-click removal for problematic GIFs saves tons of headaches.

The 3 GIF limit sounds smart. We started without limits and threads turned into GIF wars pretty quick. People love testing new features to their breaking point.

Anyone know if GIFs are cached locally or pulled from GIPHY every time? That could impact loading if a thread gets popular.

Tried it earlier today - the interface is super intuitive. Search pulls from GIPHY’s trending stuff, so you get popular options even without typing anything specific. The GIFs auto-resize to fit comment width, which keeps everything looking clean across different screens. Really adds personality without being obnoxious. There’s a tiny delay on first load, but after that it’s instant. Feels natural, not gimmicky.

Been testing this since yesterday - it’s super easy to use. There’s a little GIF button that shows up when you click the comment box. Opens a GIPHY search where you can type keywords and browse results just like their main site. Looks like there’s a 3 GIF limit per comment, which makes sense so threads don’t get crazy cluttered. Search works great and I don’t see any extra content filters beyond GIPHY’s usual stuff. GIFs load fast too and don’t bog down the page, which was my biggest worry.
