Gmail daily sending quota dropped from 1500 to 100 emails - how to restore original limit?

My Gmail sending quota suddenly decreased and I need help fixing it

I’m having trouble with my Google Workspace email account. My daily sending limit used to be 1500 emails per day, but now it’s only 100 emails. This is causing problems for my work since I need to send bulk emails regularly.

Does anyone know why this happened? More importantly, is there a way to get my original 1500 email limit back? I’ve tried looking through my account settings but can’t find anything obvious.

Any suggestions would be really helpful. Thanks in advance!

Google’s flagging your account for unusual sending patterns or suspected spam. Same thing happened to me last year when I started sending newsletters through my workspace account - they automatically cut my quota as a safety measure. You’ll have to contact Google Workspace support directly. They’ll review your activity and restore the limit if everything looks legit. Be ready to explain why you’re sending bulk emails for business. Took me 3-4 business days once I sent them proper documentation about my email marketing. Make sure you’re following their anti-spam rules, and honestly consider switching to dedicated email marketing tools for high volume - it’ll save you headaches down the road.

Check if your account got flagged for authentication issues. Same thing happened to me - turns out my domain’s MX records were messed up after switching hosts. Google automatically cut my sending limits because they couldn’t verify I actually owned the domain. Hit up your Google Admin Console and check domain verification under Domain Management. Any warnings about verification or DNS? Fix those first. Also check if you recently changed email forwarding or connected new third-party apps - those can trigger security flags. Your limits should bounce back in 24-48 hours once you fix the root problem, unless Google needs to manually review it.

if people are flagging your emails as spam, that can trigger limits. also, make sure your SPF and DKIM are set up right, google takes this serously. and yeah, even if you reach out to support, it might take a while to restore everything.
