Google Calendar CalDAV Connection Issues After iOS 18.4 Upgrade

Hello there,

I just updated my iPhone to iOS 18.4 and now I can’t sync my Google Calendar anymore. Before the update on version 18.3, everything was working perfectly with my CalDAV setup.

Right after finishing the update, my phone started asking for my password again. I’m entering the right password but it keeps getting refused. I even tried making a fresh app-specific password in my Google account but that gets denied too.

Anyone else running into this same issue? Is this some kind of known bug with the new update? I’m wondering if Apple maybe changed something with CalDAV support in 18.4.

Any ideas on how to get this working again would be really helpful. Thanks!

Had this exact problem two weeks ago after upgrading. Google changed some security settings around the same time as the iOS update, so it looked like Apple’s fault at first. Here’s what worked: I went into Google account security, deleted the old CalDAV app password completely, then made a new one. Key thing - wait 30 minutes before adding it back to iOS. Something with Google’s server delays. Also use your full Gmail address as username, not just what’s before the @. Did all this and my calendar started syncing again within an hour.
