Google Mail causing content distortion and display issues

I’m experiencing some really weird behavior with Gmail lately. The email client seems to be messing up the content of messages I receive. Sometimes text appears garbled or formatted incorrectly. Other times images don’t load properly or show up in strange places within the email.

This is happening across different devices and browsers, so I don’t think it’s a local issue on my end. Has anyone else noticed Gmail acting up recently? The content corruption is making it difficult to read important emails properly.

I’ve tried clearing my browser cache and switching between different Gmail interfaces, but the problem persists. It’s like the mail program is scrambling or corrupting the original content somehow. Any suggestions on how to fix this would be really helpful.

Sounds like a server-side issue on Google’s end. I had the same problem about six months ago during Gmail’s widespread rendering issues. Got the exact same content distortion - newsletters and work emails came through with broken layouts and missing text chunks. I switched to IMAP through Thunderbird temporarily. Just set it up with your Gmail account and skip the web interface completely while still getting all your emails. Formatting issues vanished instantly since it pulls raw email data directly. Worth trying if you need reliable email access while Google fixes whatever’s broken on their backend.

Had the same thing two weeks ago - turned out Gmail’s spam filter was going nuts. The weird content distortion you’re seeing? That’s Gmail ripping out HTML elements and CSS from emails it thinks are sketchy. Check your spam folder first - legit emails might be getting dumped there. Also try turning off browser extensions, especially ad blockers. I had uBlock Origin messing with Gmail’s rendering and disabling it fixed most of the formatting issues. If nothing works, switch to basic HTML view temporarily so you can actually read your emails while Google fixes whatever’s broken on their end.

yeah, i noticed that too. sometimes it’s just the app acting up, regardless of the browser. if switching devices doesn’t help, clearing the app cache and reinstalling might do the trick. also, check your net connection - sometimes that causes issues too.
