I’m getting frustrated with Figma. It used to be okay but now it’s really confusing. I can’t find anything anymore!
There’s this ‘Drafts to move’ thing that makes no sense. And when I look at ‘Recent files’ it only shows one file I don’t even remember working on. I’ve had this account for years so that can’t be right.
Even worse my accounts have different layouts and random updates. The dev mode keeps turning on by itself too.
Now they’re adding code blocks to Slides? It feels like Figma is focusing more on coding than design features. Am I the only one feeling this way? Is Figma still mainly for designers or are they changing direction?
I’ve been using Figma for a while now, and I have to say, the recent changes have definitely made things more complicated. The interface overhaul has been quite disruptive to my workflow. I find myself constantly searching for tools that used to be easily accessible.
The ‘Drafts to move’ feature seems unnecessary, and the inconsistency in ‘Recent files’ is frustrating. I’ve also encountered the dev mode issue, which is a nuisance when you’re trying to focus on design work.
While I appreciate Figma’s attempt to bridge the gap between design and development, the addition of code blocks to Slides feels like a step too far. It’s important for design tools to evolve, but not at the expense of core design functionality.
I’m considering exploring alternatives like Sketch or Adobe XD. It might be worth reassessing our tools if Figma continues to prioritize development features over design-centric ones.
I feel your pain, DancingFox. Figma’s recent changes have been a real headache for me too. The new interface is like a maze - I waste so much time just trying to find basic tools now.
That ‘Drafts to move’ feature? Totally useless for my workflow. And don’t get me started on the random dev mode activations. It’s driving me nuts!
I’ve been using Figma for years, but lately it feels like they’re catering more to developers than designers. The code blocks in Slides? Come on, that’s not what I signed up for.
I’m seriously considering jumping ship to Adobe XD or even going back to good old Sketch. At least those still feel like they’re made for designers. Anyone else thinking of making a switch?
yeah i get ya. figma’s gone bonkers lately. can’t find squat anymore. that drafts thing? useless. and the dev stuff? ugh. feels like they forgot us designers exist. maybe it’s time to jump ship. anyone tried adobe xd? heard it’s still designer-friendly.
I’ve noticed some changes in Figma too, and it’s not just you feeling this way. The interface has become more complex, which can be frustrating for long-time users. The ‘Drafts to move’ feature and inconsistent ‘Recent files’ are pain points I’ve encountered as well.
The shift towards dev-oriented features like code blocks in Slides does seem to indicate a change in focus. While it’s great for collaboration between designers and developers, it can feel like core design functionalities are being overshadowed.
My advice would be to reach out to Figma support about the specific issues you’re facing, especially with account layouts and unwanted dev mode activation. They might have solutions or be able to explain the rationale behind these changes. In the meantime, it might be worth exploring alternative design tools to see if they better suit your current needs.
yea figma’s been buggin me too. interface is a total mess now, can’t find stuff like before. that drafts thing is pointless. the dev mode just annoys me. feels like they forgot designers. maybe time to try other tools. anyone given sketch a shot?
