Has Framer addressed Figma's new Sites feature?

Hey everyone,

I’ve been seeing a lot of buzz about Figma’s new Sites feature. Some folks are saying it’s the end for Framer, but I think that’s a bit much.

I was wondering if anyone has heard anything official from Framer about this? Are they planning to release any big updates or new features in response?

I noticed Framer University’s social media has been dropping hints about some cool stuff coming up. But I’m curious if there’s been any direct statement from Framer themselves.

What do you all think? Is Figma Sites really a game-changer, or is Framer still holding strong? Let me know your thoughts!

I’ve been following this situation closely, and from what I’ve seen, Framer hasn’t directly addressed Figma’s Sites feature yet. However, that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re worried. Framer has always been more focused on interactive prototyping and advanced animations, areas where they still have a significant edge over Figma.

In my experience working with both tools, Framer offers much more flexibility for creating complex, app-like prototypes. While Figma’s Sites feature is impressive, it seems more geared towards simple websites rather than the rich, interactive experiences Framer excels at.

That said, competition often breeds innovation. I wouldn’t be surprised if Framer is working on some major updates behind the scenes. They’ve consistently pushed the boundaries of what’s possible in design tools, and I expect they’ll continue to do so, regardless of what Figma is up to.

havent seen framer say anything official bout figma sites yet. but tbh framer’s always been more bout those fancy interactions n stuff. figma’s cool but framer’s got its own thing goin on. bet theyre cookin up somethin epic tho… framer always surprises us

From my perspective, Framer’s silence on Figma’s Sites feature isn’t necessarily a cause for concern. Framer has always positioned itself as a more specialized tool for interactive prototyping and advanced animations. While Figma’s new feature is certainly noteworthy, it doesn’t directly compete with Framer’s core strengths.

In my experience, Framer’s ability to create complex, dynamic prototypes is unmatched. I’ve used it for projects where we needed to simulate intricate user flows and micro-interactions that would have been impossible in Figma.

That said, I wouldn’t be surprised if Framer is quietly working on some innovative updates. They’ve consistently pushed the envelope in terms of prototyping capabilities, and I expect they’ll continue to do so. Keep an eye on their official channels - they might surprise us with something game-changing soon.

As someone who’s been using Framer for years, I gotta say I’m not too worried about Figma’s Sites feature. Sure, it’s a cool addition, but Framer’s strength has always been in its powerful prototyping capabilities and ability to create complex interactions.

I’ve worked on several projects where Framer was the only tool that could handle the level of interactivity we needed. Figma’s great for static designs, but when it comes to bringing those designs to life, Framer’s still king.

That said, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Framer team is cooking up something big in response. They’ve always been pretty tight-lipped about upcoming features, but they’re not ones to rest on their laurels. I’m keeping an eye on their blog and social media for any hints.

In the meantime, I’m sticking with Framer for my more complex prototyping needs. Figma Sites might be grabbing headlines, but for those of us who need that extra level of control and interactivity, Framer’s still the go-to tool.

hey there, i’ve been using framer for a while now and honestly, i’m not too worried bout figma’s new thing. framer’s always been about those crazy interactions you can’t really do elsewhere. plus, they’re probably working on some cool stuff behind the scenes. they usually don’t make a big fuss till they’re ready to drop somethin big
