I’m having a problem with emails from a specific company not reaching my inbox. It seems they use Mailgun for their email service. Here’s what happened:
My email server had a config issue that caused bounces for about 12 hours. After fixing it, I noticed I stopped getting emails from this company. I think Mailgun might have added me to their suppressions list because of those bounces.
I’ve tried contacting the company, but they insist it’s a problem on my end. I’m pretty sure it’s actually Mailgun blocking my address though.
Has anyone dealt with this before? How can I get Mailgun to take my email off their suppressions list? The company doesn’t seem to know how to do it, and I can’t find a way to contact Mailgun directly.
Any advice would be really helpful. I need to get those emails again!
I’ve encountered a similar situation before, and it can be frustrating. Unfortunately, Mailgun’s global suppressions list is managed by them, not individual senders. Your best bet is to have the company you’re trying to receive emails from contact Mailgun support on your behalf. They should be able to request removal of your address from the suppressions list.
If the company is unresponsive, you might try reaching out to Mailgun directly through their support channels or social media. While they typically work with their clients rather than end-users, they might be willing to investigate given the circumstances.
As a last resort, consider using a different email address temporarily for communication with this company until the issue is resolved. It’s not ideal, but it could be a workaround in the meantime.
I’ve been through this exact headache before, and it’s not fun. Here’s what worked for me:
First, I kept hammering the company with detailed explanations. Eventually, I got through to someone who understood the issue and was willing to help. They reached out to their Mailgun account manager directly.
If that fails, try finding the company’s tech team on LinkedIn or Twitter. Sometimes they’re more responsive and knowledgeable about these things than customer support.
As a nuclear option, I’ve had success filing a complaint with my country’s data protection authority. Mention GDPR if you’re in Europe. It sounds extreme, but it got fast results when nothing else worked.
Hang in there – it’s frustrating, but persistence usually pays off eventually.
ugh, that sucks! i had similar probs w/ mailgun before. try bugging the company again - they should be able to get u off the list if they really try. if not, maybe create a new email just for them? not ideal but might work. good luck!
