How fast can plain-language workflow descriptions actually become production-ready automations?

There’s a pitch going around that AI can now take a plain-language description of a workflow—like “when we get a customer email, save the attachment to cloud storage, extract the invoice data, and log it in our accounting system”—and generate production-ready automation code.

I’m skeptical about that timeline. My experience is that even with AI assistance, you spend weeks going back and forth on edge cases, error handling, and domain-specific logic that the AI can’t infer from the plain-language description.
