How should Google Drive synchronization function on my e-reader?

I’ve set up Google Drive sync on my e-reader. It seems to work for some things. When I make a new folder on my device, it shows up in Google Drive. My notes have also synced.

But I’m having trouble with my books. I put some PDFs and EPUBs on my computer, but they’re not appearing on my e-reader. Does anyone know why this might be happening?

I’m also not sure how this sync is supposed to work. Can I make Google Drive a scan path for my library? I can’t figure out how to do that.

What should I expect from Google Drive sync? How can I get my books to show up? Any help would be great. Thanks!

Google Drive sync on e-readers can be tricky. From my experience, it’s not always a seamless process. The sync you’re seeing with folders and notes is a good start, but book files can be more complex. Check your e-reader’s settings for file type restrictions - some devices limit what can sync automatically.

For your library, Google Drive isn’t typically a direct scan path. Instead, you might need to manually import books from the synced Drive folder into your e-reader’s library app. This extra step is often necessary due to DRM and format compatibility issues.

To get your books to show up, try downloading them directly on your e-reader through its browser or file manager. If that doesn’t work, you may need to use a third-party app or your e-reader’s official desktop software to transfer books. Each e-reader model handles this differently, so check your device’s manual for specific instructions.

As someone who’s been using Google Drive sync with my e-reader for a while, I can tell you it’s not always straightforward. The sync working for folders and notes is a good sign, but book files can be trickier.

In my experience, the sync doesn’t automatically add books to your library. I had to manually move files from the synced Google Drive folder to my e-reader’s book folder. It’s an extra step, but it worked for me.

Also, check your e-reader’s supported file formats. Some devices are picky about what they’ll display. I once spent hours trying to sync a bunch of books, only to realize my e-reader didn’t support that particular format.

If all else fails, you might want to look into Calibre. It’s a free e-book management software that I’ve found invaluable for organizing and transferring books to my e-reader. It can even convert file formats if needed.

Hope this helps you get your books sorted out!

hey, i’ve had similar issues. google drive sync can be hit or miss with ereaders. for books, try this: manually copy PDFs/EPUBs from drive to your ereader’s book folder. some readers need files in specific places to recognize em.

also, check file compatibility. not all readers handle every format. if nothing works, maybe look into calibre? it’s pretty good for managing ebooks across devices.
