I watched a Google tutorial that showed how to connect a DialogFlow CX bot to a Vertex AI playbook. I think these playbooks are now called agents too. The video explained these steps:
Go to the agent building section
Navigate to the start page
Click on routes
Find transitions and choose playbooks
But when I try this in my own project, I cannot find the playbooks option in my transitions menu. I have checked multiple times but it is just not there. Has anyone else run into this problem? Maybe the interface changed or I am missing something obvious. I really need to get this integration working for my chatbot project.
Had the same headache a few weeks back! I was editing the wrong flow version - you need the draft version, not published. Playbook transitions only appear in draft mode. Also check that your Vertex AI agent is running in the same region as your Dialogflow CX bot. That got me too.

This sounds like a feature rollout issue, not a missing interface. DialogFlow CX’s playbook integration isn’t available everywhere yet. I hit the same problem last month - turns out my project was in a region where they hadn’t rolled it out yet. Check if your Vertex AI Agent Builder is enabled in the same project as your DialogFlow CX agent. Also, make sure you’ve got the right IAM permissions for both services.
