I’m trying to add scorecard charts to my Google Sheets spreadsheet but I’m running into some trouble. I’ve looked at the official help docs and they say it’s possible. But when I go to insert a chart, I can’t find the ‘Scorecard’ option under the ‘Other’ category.
Am I missing a step? Do I need to enable some special feature or setting first? I’ve double-checked my sheet and made sure I have the right kind of data selected, but no luck so far.
Has anyone successfully created scorecards in Google Sheets before? Any tips or tricks would be super helpful. I’m starting to wonder if this feature is only available in certain regions or account types. Thanks in advance for any advice!
hey sarahj, i had the same issue before! turns out scorecards are hidden under ‘Chart editor’ now. go to Insert > Chart, then look for ‘Setup’ tab in the sidebar. scroll down n you’ll see ‘Scorecard’ there. took me forever to find it lol. hope this helps!
My experience with Google Sheets confirms that scorecard visualizations can be used, but they may not be immediately visible. You need to ensure you have the correct data selection and then navigate to Insert > Chart. In the Chart editor sidebar, under the ‘Setup’ tab, the ‘Scorecard’ option should appear alongside other chart types. If it’s not showing up, verify whether your Google Sheets is up to date and that you’re selecting a properly formatted data range—typically, a single column or cell to reflect aggregated data.
I’ve been working with Google Sheets for years, and I can tell you that scorecard visualizations can be a bit tricky to find at first. Here’s what I’ve learned:
Make sure you’re selecting only one cell or column of data before trying to insert the chart. Scorecards work best with single values or aggregated data.
If you’re still not seeing the scorecard option, try this workaround: insert any other chart type first, then open the Chart editor. In the Chart type dropdown, you should see ‘Scorecard’ listed there.
Also, check if you’re using the latest version of Sheets. Sometimes, features roll out gradually, so you might need to wait a bit or switch to a different Google account.
Don’t get discouraged! Once you figure it out, scorecards are incredibly useful for displaying KPIs and other important metrics. Keep at it, and you’ll get there.
