How to measure spacing between rulers in Figma?

Need help with Figma ruler measurements

I recently switched to Figma from Adobe XD since XD is no longer available for free. In Adobe XD, there was a really useful feature that would automatically display the distance measurements between guide lines when you placed them on your canvas.

I’m wondering if Figma has a similar functionality where I can see the exact pixel measurements between different rulers or guide lines? This feature was super helpful for maintaining consistent spacing in my designs.

I’ve been looking through the settings but can’t seem to find this option. Does anyone know if this exists in Figma or if there’s a plugin that provides this functionality?

Thanks for any help!

Figma doesn’t have that built-in feature like XD did. Super annoying when you’re used to automatic measurements.

There’s plugins like “Figma Measure” or “Redlines” for spacing measurements, but they’re clunky and slow you down.

I just automate the whole thing with Latenode instead. It pulls design specs from Figma’s API and validates spacing rules across components automatically.

Want 16px spacing between elements? Latenode scans your frames and flags anything that’s off. Beats checking rulers manually all day.

I’ve got it generating spacing reports that go to the team automatically. Saves hours of manual work and keeps everything consistent.

Figma doesn’t have the same automatic distance measurement feature for guides as Adobe XD. However, there are effective alternatives. You can select an object and press Alt while hovering over other elements or guides to see temporary measurements. While it isn’t as permanent as XD’s option, it serves the purpose well. Additionally, the “Figma Measure” plugin offers measurement annotations, though these need to be placed manually. Overall, the Alt+hover method is quite useful for quickly checking spacing during your design process.

true, figma doesn’t have that feature directly like xd. but if u place a box between those guides, you can check the distance in the properties panel. it’s not ideal but it gets the job done for accurate spacing.
