I’m trying to create an event in my Google Calendar to remember when classes begin for the new semester. I want to make sure I don’t forget this important date and need to set it up properly. What’s the best way to add this kind of reminder so it shows up clearly on my calendar? Should I make it an all-day event or set a specific time? I’m also wondering if there are any special settings I should use to make sure the notification works well. Has anyone else done something similar for tracking school schedules? Any tips on how to organize academic dates in Google Calendar would be really helpful.
just make it an all-day event with a couple of reminders - i usually do 2 weeks before, then 1 week, and again on the day. also, color coding makes school stuff stand out from personal events. this method has worked wonders for me!
Creating a dedicated Google Calendar solely for academic events is a practical approach. For important dates like the start of a semester, I recommend marking it as an all-day event to keep it prominent on your calendar. To ensure you receive timely notifications, add reminders for a week and a day prior. A straightforward title, such as ‘Fall Semester Starts’, enhances visibility. Additionally, if your institution maintains a consistent schedule each year, consider setting the event to repeat annually to avoid missing it in the future.
