I’m having an issue with MedalBot on Discord. It’s been bombarding me with notifications every time I upload a video. This started recently and it’s driving me crazy!
For each clip I upload, I get a separate ping. It’s not just one or two, but multiple notifications for my recent uploads. I’ve looked through the Medal Discord sharing settings, but I can’t find any option to turn this off.
Does anyone know how to fix this? I don’t want to block the bot completely, but I need to stop these constant pings. Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated!
I encountered a similar issue recently. Have you tried adjusting the notification settings directly in the Medal app? Navigate to Settings > Notifications and look for options related to Discord or sharing. Sometimes these app-specific settings override Discord’s general notifications.
Another solution that worked for me was creating a separate Discord channel exclusively for Medal notifications. This way, you can mute that channel while still receiving important bot messages elsewhere.
If these don’t work, consider temporarily disconnecting the bot from your server and reconnecting it. This often resets any glitchy behavior. Remember to check the bot’s permissions when you add it back to ensure it’s not set to ping excessively.
Hopefully one of these methods resolves your notification overload!
hey there! i had the same problem. what worked for me was going to the medal website, logging in, then finding the integration settings. there should be an option to control discord notifications. just turn that off and you should be good! if not, maybe try DMing the devs on twitter. they usually respond quick
I’ve been there, and it’s definitely frustrating! Here’s what worked for me:
First, check your Discord notification settings. Sometimes it’s not the bot, but your overall Discord setup causing the issue. Go to User Settings > Notifications and make sure you haven’t accidentally set all messages to notify you.
If that doesn’t help, try unlinking and relinking your Medal account to Discord. I had a similar problem, and this fixed it for me. Just go to your Medal settings, disconnect Discord, then reconnect it.
Lastly, if all else fails, reach out to Medal support. They’re usually pretty responsive and might be able to help with bot-specific issues that aren’t obvious to us users.
