Hey everyone,
I just heard about the new pricing for GPT-4.5. It’s $75 per million tokens for input and $150 per million tokens for output. That’s pretty steep!
But here’s the interesting part: ChatGPT Plus subscribers are supposed to get 5 free queries each month at this pricing level. I’m wondering if this is a good deal or not.
What do you think? Is this enough to make the Plus subscription worth it? Or should we expect more free queries in the future?
I’d love to hear your thoughts on this. Are you a Plus user? Will this change how you use the service?
Thanks for sharing your opinions!
I’ve been a Plus user for a while now, and I’m honestly on the fence about this new pricing model. While the 5 free GPT-4.5 queries are a nice addition, they don’t seem like enough to justify the subscription cost on their own. I’ve found myself rationing these queries, saving them for truly complex tasks that require the extra horsepower.
That said, the real value of Plus for me has always been the consistent access to GPT-4 and faster response times. I’m hoping OpenAI will increase the number of free GPT-4.5 queries in the future, as it would make the subscription much more attractive. For now, I’m sticking with it, but I’ll be keeping a close eye on how the service evolves. It’s a competitive market, and OpenAI needs to ensure they’re offering compelling value to retain subscribers.
the new pricing’s a bit steep, but those 5 free queries are decent. i’ve been using them for complex stuff i can’t do with regular gpt-4. kinda wish we got more freebies tho. still on the fence about keeping my subscription… might wait and see if they bump up the free quota. anyone else feeling the same?
As a ChatGPT Plus subscriber, I’ve been closely following these pricing changes. From my experience, the 5 free GPT-4.5 queries per month are a nice perk, but they’re gone in a flash if you’re doing any serious work or research.
I’ve found that the real value comes from combining these high-powered queries with the regular GPT-4 access. I usually save the GPT-4.5 queries for complex tasks or when I need that extra boost in capability.
That said, I think OpenAI is testing the waters here. They might increase the number of free queries if user feedback is strong enough. For now, I’m sticking with my subscription because the overall package still offers good value, especially when you factor in the faster response times and priority access during peak hours.
One tip: I’ve started batching my most important questions to make the most of those 5 queries. It takes some planning, but it’s definitely improved my efficiency.
