I’ve been having this really annoying problem with Instagram stories for weeks now. When I try to add GIFs to my stories, most of them just won’t load at all. Before this started happening, maybe 5 or 6 GIFs would actually show up, but the rest would just keep spinning with that loading icon forever. I thought maybe reinstalling Instagram would fix it, but now it’s even worse - literally zero GIFs are loading. This is so frustrating because I know it used to work fine before. Has anyone else run into this issue? I’ve tried searching online but can’t find a solution anywhere.
Same thing happened to me a few months ago. So frustrating when you want to add GIFs to your stories.
It’s usually Instagram’s servers not connecting properly to GIPHY. Clearing the app cache fixed it for me (don’t just reinstall). Android: Settings > Apps > Instagram > Storage > Clear Cache. iPhone: offload and reinstall the app.
Try switching between WiFi and mobile data when adding GIFs. Sometimes one connection loads the GIF library better.
If nothing works, log out completely, clear cache, then log back in. It’s a pain but worked for me when everything else failed.
