iPad scrolling issue with Google Sheets

I'm having a really frustrating problem with Google Sheets on my iPad. Whenever I try to scroll through big spreadsheets, the app acts up and makes it super hard to move around. It's driving me crazy!

Has anyone else run into this? I've tried closing and reopening the app, but it doesn't help. The buggy scrolling is making it almost impossible to work on my larger files. I'm wondering if there's a setting I'm missing or if it's just a known issue with the iPad version.

Any tips or tricks to make scrolling smoother would be awesome. I'm using the latest iOS and Google Sheets app, if that helps. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

I’ve encountered similar issues with Google Sheets on iPad. One effective solution I found was to use the mobile browser version instead of the app. Open Safari, go to sheets.google.com, and use it in desktop mode. The scrolling is much smoother, and you get access to more features.

If you prefer the app, try reducing the zoom level. Pinch to zoom out until you can see more cells at once. This often improves scrolling performance.

Another tip: break large spreadsheets into smaller, linked sheets. It’s easier on the iPad’s resources and improves overall performance.

Lastly, ensure your iPad has enough free storage. Low storage can cause various apps to behave erratically, including scrolling issues in Google Sheets.

yo, i feel ur pain! had the same prob w/ my ipad. wat helped me was turnin off cell styles n formulas. go to settings > sheets > advanced n switch those off. made scrollin way smoother 4 me. also, try usin the app in offline mode if ur connection’s spotty. hope this helps!

I’ve definitely dealt with that scrolling issue on my iPad too. Super annoying! What worked for me was switching to ‘Grid view’ instead of ‘List view’ in the app settings. It made scrolling way smoother, especially for bigger spreadsheets.

Another thing that helped was turning off cell previews. Go to Settings > Sheets and toggle off ‘Show cell preview.’ It cuts down on lag when scrolling through lots of data.

If those don’t do the trick, try clearing the app’s cache. Go to iPad Settings > Google Sheets > Clear Cache. You might need to sign back in, but it often fixes weird glitches.

Hope one of those helps! The iPad app can be finicky sometimes, but those tweaks made it much more usable for me.
