Hey everyone! I’m curious if I’m the only one who doesn’t use Spotify’s ‘Like’ feature. When they introduced it, I was already keeping track of my favorite tunes in yearly playlists. I’m pretty set in my ways, so I haven’t switched over.
I find the ‘Liked Songs’ playlist a bit annoying, especially when it keeps popping up. Does anyone else feel the same way? Or am I just being stubborn?
I’m wondering how others organize their music on Spotify. Do you use the ‘Like’ feature, or do you have your own system? Let me know your thoughts!
i’m with u on this! never got into the like feature. i just make playlists for different moods/genres. the liked songs thing feels kinda messy to me. plus, i enjoy curating my own lists. old school but it works 4 me lol. spotify’s always pushin new stuff but sometimes simple is better
I’m with you on this one. I’ve been using Spotify since its early days, and the ‘Like’ feature never really clicked for me. My system revolves around creating themed playlists - everything from ‘Rainy Day Jazz’ to ‘Workout Pumpers’ and ‘Coding Focus’.
One trick I’ve found useful is using the ‘Radio’ feature for songs or artists I enjoy. It’s a great way to discover new music without relying on the ‘Like’ system. Plus, it keeps my library clutter-free.
I’ve noticed that by not using ‘Likes’, Spotify’s algorithm sometimes throws curveballs in my Discover Weekly. But honestly, I kind of enjoy the unpredictability. It’s led me to some interesting genres I wouldn’t have explored otherwise.
At the end of the day, it’s about what works for you. If your current system ain’t broke, why fix it?
same here, never really got into the like feature. i just make playlists for different vibes or artists i’m into. the liked songs playlist feels kinda cluttered to me. i prefer having control over how i organize my music. maybe we’re just old school but if it works, why change it right?
I’m in the same boat. The ‘Like’ feature just doesn’t fit my listening habits. I’ve developed a system of meticulously curated playlists over the years, each serving a specific purpose or mood. It’s more time-consuming, but I find it more satisfying and personal.
One downside I’ve noticed is that by not using ‘Likes’, the Spotify algorithm struggles to recommend new music accurately. However, I’ve found that this encourages me to actively seek out new artists and genres, which has led to some great discoveries.
For those who prefer more structure, avoiding the ‘Like’ feature can actually enhance the Spotify experience. It’s about finding what works best for your individual listening style.
I totally get where you’re coming from. I’ve been using Spotify for years and never really embraced the ‘Like’ feature either. My approach is to create specific playlists for different artists, genres, or occasions. It gives me more control over my library organization.
One thing I’ve found useful is using the ‘Save to playlist’ option instead of liking songs. This way, I can immediately categorize tracks into the right playlist without cluttering up a catch-all ‘Liked Songs’ list.
I’ve also noticed that not using the ‘Like’ feature seems to make Spotify’s recommendations a bit less accurate for me. But honestly, I prefer discovering new music through friends or music blogs anyway. It’s a trade-off I’m willing to make for a cleaner, more personalized library structure.
