I’m having a hard time with Google Analytics 4 on my small online shop. The whole setup process feels overwhelming with all the different tracking options and reports.
My main questions are:
- How are you handling GA4 on your store?
- Does it actually make sense to you or do you get confused too?
- Have you switched to something simpler like other analytics tools?
- Which numbers do you think matter most for online sales?
I’m not very tech-savvy and honestly the interface looks intimidating. Even when I try other analytics platforms they still seem complicated for someone like me who just wants to understand basic customer behavior.

GA4’s learning curve is brutal, but it gets easier when you focus on a few key reports instead of trying to learn everything. When I migrated from Universal Analytics, I wasted tons of time exploring features I didn’t need. Here’s what worked: ignore the advanced stuff and stick to basic ecommerce tracking - revenue, conversion rates, traffic sources. The Enhanced Ecommerce reports show which products sell and where customers bail during checkout. That’s what actually matters for small stores. I built a simple dashboard with just my daily metrics instead of drowning in all the available data. The interface sucks compared to the old version, but it works fine once you know where everything is. If you’re selling online, the purchase tracking and audience insights make the initial headache worth it.
