I manage a team of roughly ten designers, while the rest of our organization depends on Google Drive. Working with it has become exasperating due to constant issues like being perpetually stuck on ‘Fetching new items’. Despite trying various fixes, including system performance monitoring and frequent restarts, the problem persists. This persistent glitch is severely disrupting our workflow and significantly hindering collaboration within the company.
I have frequently encountered similar issues with Google Drive while coordinating projects with remote teams. In my experience, the ‘Fetching new items’ problem often disrupts workflow, particularly when there is heavy file activity across multiple devices. I found that scrutinizing file organization and reducing the number of concurrently syncing files can alleviate some of the symptoms. Although this did not completely resolve the problem, it minimized delays. In some cases, reviewing your network configuration and ensuring that local system updates do not interfere with sync processes has provided some benefit as well.
