Is Hubspot suitable for a commercial landscaping business?

Hey everyone! I work for a commercial landscaping company that’s been around for 25 years. We’re trying to move from our old systems to a CRM. One of our team members keeps mentioning Hubspot, but I’m not sure if it’s right for us.

We’re in the service industry, and our account managers each handle over 60 accounts. They need to:

  • Keep track of their activities
  • Use an app while working in the field
  • Create proposals

I’m wondering if Hubspot can do more than just marketing and early sales stuff. Can it handle all these tasks? Has anyone used it for a business like ours?

Thanks for any advice you can give!

While HubSpot is a powerful CRM, it may not be the ideal solution for a commercial landscaping business. Its strengths lie primarily in marketing and sales automation, which doesn’t fully align with your operational needs.

For your field-based work and service management requirements, you might want to consider industry-specific software. Tools like Jobber or Aspire Landscape are designed with landscaping businesses in mind. They offer features like route optimization, job scheduling, and mobile apps for field use.

These specialized platforms often include proposal creation tools and account management capabilities tailored to service industries. They can help your account managers efficiently handle their large client portfolios and streamline field operations.

Before committing to any system, I’d recommend requesting demos from a few different providers to see which best fits your company’s unique workflow and requirements.

I’ve been in the commercial landscaping game for about 15 years, and I can tell you HubSpot isn’t really cut out for our line of work. We tried it a few years back, and while it’s great for marketing, it falls short on the operational side.

For a business like yours, I’d strongly recommend looking into software specifically designed for landscaping companies. We switched to Real Green Systems about three years ago, and it’s been a total game-changer. It handles everything from scheduling to invoicing, and the mobile app is fantastic for our field teams.

The proposal creation feature is particularly robust - it’s saved our account managers tons of time. And with the ability to manage multiple accounts efficiently, it’s perfect for handling those 60+ client loads.

Don’t get me wrong, HubSpot is a solid CRM, but for our industry, you’re better off with a specialized solution. It’ll save you a lot of headaches down the road, trust me.

As someone who’s worked in the landscaping industry for over a decade, I can say that HubSpot might not be the best fit for your specific needs. While it’s great for marketing and sales, it falls short when it comes to field service management.

In my experience, companies like yours would benefit more from a specialized software tailored for landscaping businesses. We switched to LMN (Landscape Management Network) a few years ago, and it’s been a game-changer. It handles everything from scheduling and routing to creating estimates and invoicing.

The mobile app is particularly useful for field work, allowing our crews to log time, take before-and-after photos, and even get client signatures on the spot. It’s designed specifically for our industry, which means it understands the unique challenges we face.

That said, if you’re dead set on HubSpot, you might be able to make it work with some custom integrations. But honestly, I’d recommend looking into industry-specific solutions first. They’ll likely save you time and headaches in the long run.

i’ve used hubspot for my lawn care biz and it’s not great tbh. its more for marketing stuff. we switched to aspire and its way better for landscaping. it has a good app for field work and does proposals too. hubspot might work if u customize it alot but id look at landscaping specific software first
