Hey folks, I’ve been thinking about the quality of coding in Miro’s game. As someone who’s played around with RPG Maker, I wanted to share my thoughts.
Sure, the game has some bugs. But doesn’t every game? Even big titles have issues. The real question is: does it make the game less fun? I don’t think so.
Now, about RPG Maker. It’s a cool tool, but it can be pretty limiting. You’re stuck with certain rules, which can make it hard to do fancy stuff. That’s why a lot of RPG Maker games focus more on story than complex gameplay.
Considering these limitations, I think Miro did an awesome job. The dismemberment system and other unique features are really impressive.
So yeah, while it’s okay to point out bugs, calling the whole code ‘garbage’ isn’t fair. The game is still great fun, bugs and all.
What do you guys think? Am I off base here?
As someone who’s worked on indie game development, I can definitely relate to the challenges Miro faced. RPG Maker is a double-edged sword - it’s accessible, but it can be a real headache when you’re trying to push its boundaries. I’ve grappled with similar issues in my own projects. The dismemberment system Miro implemented is no small feat given the constraints. It’s easy for armchair critics to throw stones, but creating something unique within a limited framework takes serious skill and determination. That said, I think there’s room for improvement. Some of the bugs I’ve encountered did impact my enjoyment, particularly in combat. But let’s be real - even AAA titles ship with bugs these days. Ultimately, I believe the innovative gameplay elements outweigh the technical hiccups. Miro’s creativity shines through, and that’s what makes indie games special. Perfectionism can be the enemy of actually shipping a game, and Miro managed to deliver something genuinely fun and unique.
yo as someone who’s played tons of indie games, i gotta say miro’s game is pretty dope. sure, it’s got some wonky bits, but that’s part of the charm, ya know? rpg maker can be a real pain to work with, so the fact that miro pulled off that dismemberment thing is legit impressive. bugs happen, but the game’s still hella fun
