Is there a spreadsheet template for tracking content progress?

Hey everyone,

I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed with my content management. Right now, I’m using a basic system to keep tabs on what I’ve created and finished. But it’s not cutting it anymore.

Has anyone put together a Google Sheets template or something similar for content tracking? I could really use a more organized way to manage my work. It would be awesome if there’s already a solution out there that I could use or adapt.

Any suggestions or resources would be super helpful. Thanks in advance!

I’ve found that Airtable is an excellent solution for content tracking. It’s more flexible than a traditional spreadsheet and offers a visual, database-like approach. I’ve set up a base that includes tables for content ideas, drafts, published pieces, and even a content calendar view.

What I appreciate most about Airtable is its ability to link records across tables. For instance, I can connect a draft to its original idea and then to its published version, creating a clear content lifecycle. The platform also allows for custom fields, so you can track metrics like engagement rates or client feedback.

While there’s a bit of a learning curve, the pre-made templates in Airtable’s universe can give you a solid starting point. You might want to explore those before building your own system from scratch.

I’ve been in your shoes, and finding the right system can be a game-changer. After trying various methods, I developed a custom Google Sheets template that’s been invaluable for my content workflow. It includes columns for content type, status, deadlines, word count, and even SEO keywords. I’ve added conditional formatting to highlight urgent tasks and overdue items.

One feature I find particularly useful is a dashboard that automatically updates with key metrics like content completion rate and upcoming deadlines. It’s helped me stay on top of my workload and improved communication with clients.

If you’re interested, I’d be happy to share a sanitized version of my template. It’s easily customizable to fit different content strategies. Just let me know, and I can provide more details on how to adapt it to your specific needs.
