Locked out of password manager and email: A circular account access nightmare

I’m in a tough spot and could use some help. I can’t get into my password manager or email because they’re both locked behind each other. It’s like a catch-22 situation.

Here’s what happened:

  • Got a new computer and can’t log into my password manager
  • The password manager wants me to verify through email
  • My email password is stored in the password manager
  • I don’t have any other way to verify either account

I’ve tried:

  • Filling out account recovery forms
  • Using old devices and browsers
  • Contacting support

But nothing’s worked so far. I’m really worried because I’ve got important stuff locked away in there. Work logins, personal info, you name it.

Has anyone dealt with something like this before? Any ideas on how to break this loop? I’m open to any suggestions, even if they’re a bit out there. Thanks in advance for any help!

I’ve encountered a similar predicament before. Have you considered reaching out to your workplace IT department? They might be able to verify your identity and assist with regaining access to work-related accounts. This could potentially provide a starting point for recovering other accounts. Additionally, check if you’ve saved any login information in your browser’s password manager. Sometimes we overlook these built-in features. As a last resort, you may need to contact each service provider individually to prove your identity and reset access. It’s a time-consuming process, but often the only way forward in such situations.

oof, that’s a real pickle ur in! been there myself, sorta. have u tried checkin for any backup codes u mightve saved? sometimes we forget about those. or maybe a trusted contact who could help verify ur identity? if all else fails, u might need to bite the bullet and start fresh with new accounts. good luck!

I’ve been through a similar nightmare, and it’s incredibly frustrating. One thing that worked for me was checking my phone for any saved passwords or auto-fill data. Sometimes we forget that our phones can be a goldmine of login info.

Another option is to look for any physical documents where you might have jotted down passwords. I know it’s not recommended, but many of us still do it. Check old notebooks, planners, or even that drawer where you toss random papers.

If those don’t pan out, try reaching out to friends or family members. You’d be surprised how often we share login info with trusted people for emergencies. They might have that crucial piece of information you need.

Lastly, if you’ve used any recovery email addresses or phone numbers in the past, now’s the time to check those. Sometimes we set these up and forget about them, but they can be lifesavers in situations like this.
