Hey everyone! Our small but growing Discord server (about 120 members) needs a custom bot. Here’s what we want it to do:
- Guide new members to the intro channel
- Post alerts in announcements for new website articles, podcasts, and YouTube videos
- Create polls
If you have other cool ideas, we’re open to them too! Our budget is $25.
Please comment below if you’re interested. We prefer chatting on Discord, so include your username when you message us. Thanks!
As a Discord bot developer, I’ve gotta say $25 is pretty tight for a custom bot with those features. But don’t worry, there are still options! Have you considered using a bot creation platform like Discord Bot Maker or Botghost? They offer drag-and-drop interfaces that could help you build most of what you need without coding.
If you’re set on custom, you might find a beginner dev looking to build their portfolio. Try posting on coding Discord servers or student forums. Just be upfront about the budget and maybe offer to give a shoutout or testimonial.
Another thought - if you’re tech-savvy, you could learn to make it yourself. There are tons of YouTube tutorials on Discord.py that cover the basics. It’d take some time, but you’d end up with exactly what you want.
Whatever route you choose, good luck with your server!
As someone who’s worked on Discord bots before, I hate to say it, but $25 is really low for a custom bot with those features. You might want to look into existing bots like Carl-bot or YAGPDB that can handle most of what you’re asking for free. If you absolutely need custom work, consider raising your budget or offering other incentives like revenue sharing if your server grows. Alternatively, you could learn to code it yourself - Discord.py is pretty beginner-friendly and there are tons of tutorials out there. Whatever you decide, good luck with your server!
hey there, $25 might be a bit low for a custom bot tbh. have u considered using existing bots? MEE6 or Dyno can do most of what u want for free. if u still need custom, maybe offer to give credit/exposure or find a student dev who wants practice. good luck!
