Looking for effective ad blocking solution for Twitch streams

I have been trying to watch my favorite streamers on Twitch but I keep getting interrupted by ads every few minutes. Right now I am using an ad blocking extension on Firefox browser but it does not seem to work properly on Twitch platform. The ads still show up during streams which is really annoying. Interestingly the same ad blocker works perfectly fine when I watch videos on YouTube so I am not sure why Twitch is different. Has anyone found a reliable way to block advertisements on Twitch? I would really appreciate any suggestions or recommendations for extensions or methods that actually work. Thanks in advance for your help.

I’ve dealt with this exact problem. Twitch actively blocks most standard ad blockers, so here’s what actually worked for me: First, try a VPN with servers in Netherlands or Germany. Twitch serves way fewer ads there because of EU advertising regulations. I saw a huge difference in interruptions. Second, clear your browser cache and cookies just for Twitch, then reload the stream. Sometimes this confuses their ad targeting and you’ll get longer ad-free periods. The VPN might hurt your stream quality a bit, but I think it’s worth it for uninterrupted viewing.

if ur cool with spending a lil cash, twitch prime is def the way to go! no ads at all and some extra goodies too. but if u prefer free, try switching to chrome or edge, firefox can be a bit tricky with ad blockers.

Twitch has been fighting ad blockers for years, so your Firefox extension won’t work there. I switched to uBlock Origin with specific Twitch filter lists - helped a lot. But the best solution I found was using alternative clients like Streamlink with VLC player. Completely bypasses the web interface and all ads. You can also try third-party mobile apps that strip ads, though they’re hit or miss depending on what Twitch’s doing. Just remember Twitch constantly updates their ad serving, so any fix might be temporary until they patch it again.
