Mailgun issues causing user complaints

Hey everyone,

I’m freaking out a bit here. A bunch of our users have been messaging us saying they’re having trouble with Mailgun. We use it for all our email stuff, so this is pretty serious.

Has anyone else run into problems with Mailgun lately? What’s going on? I’m not sure if it’s just us or if there’s some bigger issue.

If you’ve dealt with this before, I’d love to hear how you fixed it. We need to get this sorted ASAP before more users get upset.

Any tips or advice would be super helpful. Thanks in advance!

I’ve encountered similar issues with Mailgun in the past. One often overlooked cause is DNS configuration problems. Check your DNS records, particularly SPF and DKIM settings, to ensure they’re correctly set up for Mailgun.

Another potential culprit could be rate limiting. If you’ve recently increased your email volume, you might be hitting Mailgun’s sending limits. Review your account settings and consider upgrading your plan if necessary.

It’s also worth investigating whether your emails are being caught in spam filters. Use Mailgun’s built-in tools to analyze your deliverability rates and make adjustments to your email content if needed.

Lastly, don’t forget to communicate transparently with your users about the issue. A simple status update can go a long way in maintaining trust during technical difficulties.

I’ve definitely been in your shoes with Mailgun issues before. Last year, we faced a similar crisis when our transactional emails suddenly stopped going through. After some digging, we discovered it was due to our IP reputation taking a hit from a spam trap.

To resolve it, we worked closely with Mailgun support to implement stricter list hygiene practices and set up a dedicated IP. We also started monitoring our email metrics more closely using Mailgun’s analytics tools.

One thing that really helped was setting up a status page to keep users informed during outages. It bought us some goodwill and reduced support ticket volume.

Have you checked Mailgun’s status page or reached out to their support team yet? They’re usually pretty responsive and can often pinpoint the root cause quickly. Hang in there - these issues are stressful but usually resolvable with some persistence.

yo, i feel ur pain. mailgun can be a real pain sometimes. have u tried checkin their api logs? sometimes theres weird errors hidin there. also, make sure ur smtp credentials r still valid. they can expire n cause all sorts of headaches. if all else fails, maybe switch to sendgrid or somethin. good luck!
