Modifying automation templates using plain english – does it work well?

Tried using Latenode’s AI Copilot to adjust an inventory template for our needs. The natural language editing kinda worked but introduced duplicate error handling steps. How precise do I need to be in my descriptions? Anyone gotten good at prompt-crafting for template modifications?

Be specific about what to keep/change. Try “Modify the stock alert workflow to: Keep existing email triggers BUT replace SMS logic with Slack alerts EXCEPT for critical items”. Works 90% of time.

I structure modification requests like code diffs: ‘In purchase_order node, change vendor_email to procurement@ and add cc to warehouse@’. Latenode’s copilot handles these granular changes better than paragraphs.

use bullet points in your prompts. the AI parses them better than long sentences. saw 40% less errors this way
