I’m puzzled. I set up my Azure OpenAI account in Cursor’s settings. The green switch is on, which should mean Cursor can use my Azure GPT deployment. But when I check the list of models, my Azure OpenAI option isn’t there.
I double-checked everything:
- Added Azure OpenAI details in settings
- Saw the green toggle confirming connection
- Looked at available models list
Still no Azure OpenAI choice. Am I missing something? Has anyone else run into this? I’m not sure if it’s a bug or if I need to do something else to make it show up.
Any tips on how to get my Azure OpenAI model to appear in Cursor would be great. I’m stumped!
I encountered a similar problem when integrating Azure OpenAI with Cursor. One thing to check is whether your Azure deployment is fully provisioned and active. Sometimes there’s a delay between setting up the deployment and it becoming available for use. Also, ensure you’ve entered the correct API version in Cursor’s settings - this can sometimes cause issues if it’s not aligned with your Azure deployment. If all else fails, reaching out to Cursor’s support team might be worthwhile. They were quite helpful in resolving a configuration issue I had that prevented my Azure model from appearing.
I’ve been using Azure OpenAI with Cursor for a while now, and I’ve noticed it can be a bit finicky sometimes. One thing that’s not immediately obvious is that Cursor caches the list of available models. Even after setting up Azure correctly, you might need to force a refresh of this cache.
Try this: go to Cursor’s settings, disconnect your Azure account, then reconnect it. This usually triggers a re-fetch of the model list. Also, make sure your Azure deployment name matches exactly what’s in your Azure portal—it’s case-sensitive.
If that doesn’t work, there might be an issue with your Azure deployment itself. Check if you can use the model directly through Azure’s playground. If it works there but not in Cursor, it’s likely a Cursor-specific problem and you might need to contact their support.
Lastly, patience can sometimes be key. In my experience, it occasionally takes a bit of time for everything to sync up properly. Give it a few hours and try again if all else fails.
hey, i had the same issue! turns out, u gotta refresh the app after setting up azure. close cursor completely, then reopen it. that fixed it for me. if that doesnt work, maybe check ur azure subscription? sometimes permissions can be wonky. good luck!
