Looking for dedicated Blackberry application to connect with Jira
I have been searching for a way to manage my Jira tickets directly from my Blackberry device. The web interface through the mobile browser works but it’s not really user friendly and quite slow to load.
I was wondering if anyone knows about any native Blackberry applications that can connect to Jira servers? Something that would give me a better mobile experience than just using the browser.
Has anyone found a good solution for this? I need to be able to view tickets, update statuses, and maybe add comments while I’m away from my computer. Any recommendations would be really helpful.
Had this exact same headache two years back when we were stuck on Blackberry devices. Most third-party Jira apps for BB either died or got yanked from BlackBerry World completely. I ended up using Jira’s REST API through a generic app called “REST Client” - bit of setup involved but I could view tickets and update statuses without hassle. You’ll need admin credentials and some tech know-how, but it beats the hell out of using mobile browser. Also check if your company has any enterprise mobile management stuff - sometimes they’ve got custom Jira integrations for Blackberry that actually work.
tbh, i dont think there are any decent native BlackBerry apps for Jira now. devs pulled support ages ago. maybe ask your company if they have custom stuff? otherwise, keep an eye out for third-party apps that say they’re compatible with BB. not sure how well they work tho.
