Need alternatives to expensive HubSpot plan - considering Pipedrive or Mailchimp

Background: I created a SaaS platform for nonprofit organizations in 2021 and we’ve been growing steadily. A marketing advisor I hired back then set us up with HubSpot (turns out they got paid for it). Our discounted startup package is ending soon and the price will jump to more than $800 per month.

Current setup: Our site runs on HubSpot and we use their appointment booking plus some automated marketing features. That’s about all we need from them right now. We handle customer support through Front and online sales via SureCart. As our business expands, we want better visibility into customer profiles and contract renewal tracking.

What I’m thinking: Keep our website on HubSpot using their basic $20 content plan. The main challenge is finding a way to connect website visitor data from HubSpot to whatever new CRM we choose.

Options we’re considering: Pipedrive and Mailchimp are our top picks. We looked at Bravo briefly but the user feedback seems inconsistent.

Question: Has anyone successfully integrated a free HubSpot website with Pipedrive, Mailchimp, or similar tools? Looking for real experiences with this kind of setup.

pipedrive’s solid for basic crm stuff, but their reporting sucks compared to hubspot. we ditched hubspot last year and went with pipedrive + zapier integration. works fine, but you’ll miss the slick automation features. fair warning though - the webhook setup for appointment booking took forever to get right!

I faced a similar issue last year when HubSpot’s pricing skyrocketed. Ultimately, we transitioned to Pipedrive, and the experience has been positive. You can integrate HubSpot with Pipedrive via Zapier, although be aware that data syncing typically encounters delays, which isn’t ideal for immediate follow-ups. Nonetheless, Pipedrive’s capabilities for contract management and customer tracking have significantly improved our operations. While you might have to forgo some of HubSpot’s advanced marketing features, Pipedrive fulfills all essential CRM needs. Plus, the cost savings have made the switch worthwhile.

We made this exact switch 18 months ago when HubSpot got too expensive. Went with Mailchimp for CRM and kept HubSpot for content management. The integration works okay through their native connector, but it’s not perfect. You’ll have to manually map fields upfront and deal with sync issues here and there. Heads up - Mailchimp’s CRM is decent but nowhere near as powerful as dedicated CRM platforms. It handles basic customer profiles and renewal tracking fine, but you’ll hit walls if you need complex pipeline management down the road. The appointment booking integration was a pain and needed custom webhook setup. Worth it for the cost savings, but give yourself a few weeks to get everything dialed in.
