Hey everyone! I just found out that Mistral AI dropped some new models. They’re called Mistral Large 3 and Pixtral Large. From what I can tell, they’re only available through API right now. Has anyone tried them out yet? I’m curious about how they perform compared to their previous versions. Also, does anyone know if they plan to make these models available for direct use, or if they’ll stay API-only? I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences if you’ve had a chance to test them!
I’ve been experimenting with Mistral Large 3 for the past week, and I must say, it’s quite impressive. The model’s ability to understand context and generate coherent responses is notably better than its predecessors. I’ve found it particularly useful for tasks involving complex reasoning and analysis.
One standout feature is its multilingual capabilities. I’ve tested it with several languages, and the results have been consistently good across the board. This is a significant improvement over some other models I’ve used.
Regarding Pixtral Large, I haven’t had hands-on experience yet, but colleagues in computer vision are excited about its potential. They’re particularly interested in its image understanding and generation capabilities.
As for direct use, I suspect Mistral AI will keep these models API-only for the foreseeable future. It’s likely a strategic decision to maintain control over usage and monetization. However, this is just speculation based on industry trends.
I’ve been using Mistral Large 3 for a couple of projects, and it’s definitely a step up from their previous offerings. The model’s understanding of nuanced queries is remarkable, especially when dealing with technical or scientific content. I’ve noticed significant improvements in its ability to maintain context over longer conversations, which has been invaluable for more complex tasks.
One aspect that stands out is its efficiency. The response times are noticeably faster compared to other models I’ve worked with, even for intricate prompts. This has been a game-changer for real-time applications.
Regarding availability, I suspect Mistral AI will keep these models API-only to maintain quality control and scalability. It’s a common approach in the industry, allowing them to refine and update the models more easily. While direct access would be convenient, the API route ensures consistent performance across all users.
havent tried em yet, but heard theyre pretty good. saw some benchmarks showing mistral large 3 beating gpt-3.5 on most tasks. pixtral sounds interesting for image stuff. not sure bout direct use, probly staying API only for now. anyone else know more?
