New Shopify Summer 2025 Release - What are your thoughts?

Just saw that Shopify dropped their Summer 2025 updates today. There are some pretty cool features in this release that I think will help a lot of store owners. The ability to finally stack free shipping with discount codes is something people have been asking for forever. I’m also curious about trying out the new AI tools they mentioned.

I’m wondering when all these features will actually roll out though. We’re still waiting for some of the previous updates like the new Markets features to show up in our region. Anyone else noticed that some updates take ages to reach certain areas?

What features are you most excited about from this release?

The stacked discount feature’s gonna be huge for conversions. I’ve been manually dealing with customers wanting to combine promos for months - what a pain. The enhanced checkout customization caught my eye though. If they actually let us modify more stuff without needing Shopify Plus, smaller stores could save serious money on development. That regional rollout problem you mentioned is so real - we’re still missing analytics features from earlier this year. Shopify needs to get their deployment consistent across markets because right now some regions get unfair advantages.

honestly the summer release feels kinda underwhelming compared to what they hyped up last year. sure discount stacking is nice but why did it take them so long? most other platforms had this ages ago. im more worried about bugs - remember when they “upgraded” the admin panel and half our apps broke for weeks? gonna wait and see what breaks this time before getting too excited about new features.

The discount stacking is cool, but the real game changer? Connecting all these features together. Most people set up each promotion and checkout flow separately - total mess.

I’ve been automating similar workflows for our store and it saves crazy amounts of time. When Shopify drops features like this, build automated systems that instantly apply the right discount combos based on customer behavior or inventory levels.

Like automatically triggering free shipping + discount codes when someone abandons their cart, or adjusting promotions based on regional availability since rollout delays are a thing. Jack’s AI tools will need human oversight, but you can automate that review process too.

Mobile checkout improvements are solid, but they’re way better with automated follow-up sequences running behind the scenes. Customer hits a checkout error? Automated email with alternative payment options. Purchase complete? Instant inventory updates and personalized upsells.

Don’t wait months for features to hit your region - build the automation infrastructure now. When features finally arrive, everything plugs in seamlessly.

Been running Shopify stores for 4 years - these updates look pretty standard. The discount stacking will cut down support tickets since customers complain weekly about not combining offers with free shipping. What I really want to know is if they fixed those tax calculation bugs from the last update. We’re still getting weird rounding errors on international orders that started after the spring release. The AI features sound cool but I’m not holding my breath. Their product description generator was pretty disappointing. I’ll test everything on staging first - rolling back changes mid-season is always a mess.

Those AI tools look promising but I’m skeptical they’ll work well day-to-day. We tested some beta AI features last quarter - they were impressive on paper but the product descriptions still needed tons of editing. The improved mobile checkout flow is what I’m excited about. Our mobile conversion rates have been stuck forever even though 70% of our traffic is mobile. The regional rollout delays are annoying but expected. I always budget 3-6 months after they announce something before it actually works in our dashboard.
