Hey football fans! I’ve put together a cool spreadsheet that grabs NFL scores in real-time. It uses data from a reliable sports network and shows it in a way that’s super easy to read. This could be really useful if you’re working on other football-related projects.
Some neat things about this spreadsheet:
Shows live NFL game data by week
Keeps old seasons for looking back
You can set it to update automatically
Filter games by week
Hide finished games if you want
Highlights which team has the ball during a game
Shows when it was last updated
Includes pre-season games too
Has a hidden part where you can compare two teams
If you want it to update on its own, you’ll need to set up something called a trigger. It’s not too hard:
Go to the Extensions menu and pick AppsScript
Look for Triggers on the left
Click the + Add Trigger button
Pick the main function to run
Choose time-based trigger
Set it to update every 5 minutes (or 60 if you’re not using it much)
Remember, don’t mess with the original sheet. Make your own copy to play with. Have fun!
yo, this spreadsheet sounds dope! been lookin 4 one like this for ages. quick q - does it pull player stats like yards or TDs? and refresh rate, every play or every few mins? thanks for sharin, u da real MVP!
Wow, that spreadsheet sounds like a total game-changer! I’ve been using a clunky old Excel file to track scores, but this takes it to a whole new level. The automatic updates and ability to filter by week are exactly what I’ve been looking for.
One thing I’m curious about - does the spreadsheet have any sort of visual representation of the data? I’m thinking something like a basic win-loss chart for each team or maybe a league standings table that updates in real-time. That would be incredibly useful for getting a quick overview of how teams are performing throughout the season.
Also, have you considered adding any sort of playoff prediction feature? It might be cool to see how each game impacts a team’s chances of making the postseason.
Thanks for sharing this awesome tool with the community. It’s clear you’ve put a lot of thought and effort into creating something truly useful for football fans.
This spreadsheet sounds like a fantastic resource for NFL enthusiasts and data analysts alike. I’ve been looking for something similar for my fantasy football league, and this could be a game-changer. The real-time updates and historical data retention are particularly appealing features.
One question though - have you considered adding any advanced statistics to the spreadsheet? Things like yards per carry, quarterback rating, or defensive metrics could add another layer of depth for those of us who like to dive deep into the numbers.
Also, I’m curious about the data source. Is it pulling from an official NFL API, or are you scraping from a particular sports website? Reliability of data is crucial for projects like this.
Thanks for sharing this tool with the community. It’s contributions like these that make following the NFL even more engaging for stats nerds like myself.
