I’ve been researching autonomous AI teams as a way to handle workflows that normally require multiple people. The idea is compelling—instead of a person doing analysis, then passing to another person for decision-making, then another for execution, you have AI agents collaborating on the whole thing.
But I’m wondering about the operational side. When you have three or four AI agents working together in one workflow, does the system stay debuggable? What happens when something goes wrong—how do you trace which agent introduced the error? And from a cost perspective, are you running multiple models in parallel, which might spike your execution costs?
Also practical question: can non-technical people really manage these workflows once they’re deployed? Or does it require constant engineering oversight?
