I recently faced an uncomfortable situation at home. While using the computer, my mom stumbled upon my music playlist on a streaming service. She now knows what I usually listen to. I’m a bit embarrassed because there are some songs that she wouldn’t expect me to enjoy. Has anyone experienced a similar situation? How do you cope when your parents find out about your music preferences? I’m concerned she might judge my choices or make remarks about the artists I like. Should I explain my taste in music or just let it go and hope it fades away? Any tips would be appreciated since this is making things tense at home.
just chill, man. my mom did the same thing. she was all weird about it but a few days later she didn’t even mention it again. if she brings it up, just change the subject and it’ll blow over. trust me, it’s not a big deal!
