Preparing for HubSpot's Outbound BDR interview: Advice needed

Hey everyone,

I’ve got an upcoming interview for an Outbound BDR position at HubSpot. They told me it’ll be split into two parts:

  1. Behavioral questions (20 minutes)
  2. Cold call role play (20 minutes)

The interview is set for Wednesday, and I’m trying to get ready. Has anyone here gone through HubSpot’s interview process? I could really use some tips on handling both sections.

Specifically, I’m looking for:

  • Common behavioral questions they might ask
  • Strategies for the cold call simulation
  • Any other advice to stand out

If you’ve been through this or know someone who has, I’d be super grateful for any insights. Thanks in advance for your help!

I went through HubSpot’s BDR interview process last year, and it was quite an experience. For the behavioral part, they really dug into my past sales experiences and how I handled difficult situations. They asked about times I missed quota, how I bounced back from rejection, and my strategies for staying motivated.

The cold call role play was intense. My advice: do your homework on HubSpot’s products and ideal customer profile. They’re looking for how you handle objections and your ability to pivot the conversation. I fumbled a bit when the ‘prospect’ threw me a curveball about their current solution.

One thing that helped me stand out was asking thoughtful questions about their sales process and team culture at the end. Shows you’re genuinely interested in the role beyond just getting a job.

Remember to stay calm and be yourself. They’re assessing your potential as much as your current skills. Good luck!
