Prevent Gemini from accessing your Gmail account

Hey everyone, I’m a bit worried about AI privacy. Does anyone know how to stop Gemini from getting into my Gmail? I’ve heard some AI can read emails and I’m not comfortable with that. Is there a setting I need to change or something? I use Gmail a lot for work and personal stuff, so I want to make sure it’s safe. Any tips would be great. Thanks!

no worries mate, gemini cant just hop into ur gmail like that. its separate from google stuff. but if ur paranoid, use a strong password n turn on that 2-factor thingy. i always do that for important accounts. keeps the bad guys out lol. stay safe out there!

Good news, RunningTiger - you don’t need to worry about Gemini accessing your Gmail account. Gemini doesn’t have built-in access to personal email accounts like Gmail. It’s a standalone AI model that works with the information you directly provide to it during conversations.

To be extra cautious, just make sure you’re not sharing any login credentials or sensitive information when interacting with Gemini. Also, double-check your Google account settings to ensure you haven’t granted any unexpected permissions to third-party apps.

If you’re still concerned, consider using two-factor authentication for your Gmail account. It adds an extra layer of security that would make unauthorized access extremely difficult, even in the unlikely event that an AI system tried to get in.

I’ve been using Gemini for a while now, and I can assure you that it doesn’t have direct access to your Gmail account. Gemini is a separate system that only works with the information you explicitly provide during interactions. However, it’s always wise to be cautious about digital privacy. I routinely review and update my Google account security settings, use a strong and unique password, enable two-factor authentication, and carefully consider what information I share during conversations. These practices have provided me with confidence while still allowing me to benefit from AI tools like Gemini.
