Pro player breaks down why Twitch feels weak right now

A high-level player recently shared their thoughts on why Twitch is struggling in the current meta.

They pointed out that his E and W abilities feel outdated and don’t provide much value. This is apparently why the AP build used to work better before it got nerfed - it actually made his abilities feel useful. Now even his ultimate often feels pointless because enemies can just dodge the auto attacks anyway.

The situation got worse with recent changes. The Infinity Edge price increase to 3600 gold means crit ADCs take longer to power up. Plus Blade of the Ruined King got nerfed. On top of that, Twitch lost 52 base health which makes laning even harder against popular picks like Caitlyn, Ashe, and Ezreal.

What might help is buffing Lethal Tempo to allow higher attack speed than the current 2.5 cap. Maybe 3.0 or 3.5 would help DPS marksmen feel better in late game fights against tanks and bruisers. This would bring back that smooth “gliding” feel that makes Twitch’s ultimate actually satisfying to use.

The core issue isn’t just his abilities being weak - it’s that Twitch’s entire identity as a hypercarry has been compromised by systemic changes. I’ve been playing him since season 4 and the problem runs deeper than just number tweaks. His stealth duration feels meaningless when vision control is so accessible now, and the contaminate damage doesn’t scale properly into mid-game teamfights. What really hurts is how item diversity disappeared. Before, you could adapt your build based on enemy composition - now there’s basically one viable path and it comes online too late. The attack speed cap increase sounds nice in theory, but it won’t fix his fundamental weakness during the 15-25 minute window where games are decided. Twitch needs either better scaling on his basic abilities or some form of survivability that doesn’t require burning his only escape tool.
