Searching for a comprehensive budget template in Google Sheets

Hey everyone! I’m on the hunt for a detailed budget template that works with Google Sheets. I’ve tried making my own but I’m not great with formulas or creating charts.

I’m hoping to find a template that includes:

  • Space for income
  • Sections for regular bills and payments
  • A separate area for loans (like personal or student loans)
  • Categories for wants and savings
  • A spot to track kids’ activity expenses
  • Some way to mark bills as paid and see it on a chart

The goal is to get a better grip on our family finances. We’re doing okay but there’s room for improvement. It would be awesome if my wife and I could easily see where our money is going and find ways to save more.

If anyone knows of a free template that fits the bill, that would be amazing! But I’m open to paid options too if they’re reasonably priced. Thanks for any suggestions!

hey there! i use this awesome free template called ‘Budget Boss’ on google sheets. it’s got everything u need - income, bills, loans, savings etc. even tracks kid stuff! the charts r super helpful 2 see where ur money goes. my hubby & i love it. just google ‘Budget Boss template’ and you’ll find it. good luck!

I’ve been in your shoes, JackWolf69. After trying countless templates, I stumbled upon ‘Tiller Money’. It’s not free, but it’s worth every penny. What sets it apart is its automatic bank feed feature - your transactions are pulled in daily, saving you hours of manual entry.

The template covers all your requirements and then some. It’s highly customizable, so you can tailor it to your family’s specific needs. The ‘Foundation Template’ is particularly robust, with sections for income, bills, loans, and savings goals. There’s even a ‘Kids’ category you can add.

What I find most valuable is the ‘Insights’ tab. It gives you a bird’s eye view of your spending patterns, making it easier to identify areas where you can cut back. My wife and I have managed to boost our savings by 20% in just six months using this system.

There’s a 30-day free trial if you want to give it a spin. Just Google ‘Tiller Money’ and you’ll find their website. Hope this helps!

I’ve been using a fantastic Google Sheets budget template for the past year that might suit your needs perfectly. It’s called ‘Aspire Budgeting’ and it’s free. This template covers all the bases you mentioned - income tracking, bill categorization, loan management, and even has a section for kids’ expenses. The best part is its visual elements; it generates charts automatically to give you a clear picture of your spending patterns.

One caveat: there’s a bit of a learning curve initially. But once you get the hang of it, it’s incredibly powerful. My wife and I sync it with our bank accounts, which makes tracking a breeze. We’ve managed to increase our savings by 15% since we started using it. Just search for ‘Aspire Budgeting’ and you’ll find their website with detailed setup instructions. Good luck with your budgeting journey!
