Seeking a database tool with bulk photo upload capability

I’m looking for a user-friendly database tool that can handle bulk photo uploads. Right now I have a big Excel file with lots of rows. Each row has a photo linked to it. I want to move this data to a new system, but I need to keep the photos connected to their rows.

I’ve tried Airtable and love it, but it can’t do this bulk photo upload thing. The tool I’m using now for managing my collection is a pain. I want something that’s easy to use but still powerful, kind of like Airtable.

Does anyone know of a good option? I need something that can:

  1. Import my Excel data
  2. Let me upload all the photos at once
  3. Keep the photos linked to the right data rows
  4. Have a nice interface for managing everything

Any suggestions would be super helpful!

have u tried filemaker pro? it can handle bulk imports and has good photo management. i used it for a similar project last year. the interface is pretty decent too, not as sleek as airtable but gets the job done. might be worth checkin out

I’d recommend taking a look at NocoDB. It’s an open-source alternative to Airtable that offers more flexibility for bulk operations. You can import your Excel file directly, and it supports attaching multiple files to records. The interface is intuitive, similar to Airtable’s spreadsheet-like view. For bulk photo uploads, you can use their API or command-line interface. It might require a bit more setup than some commercial options, but it’s powerful and customizable. Plus, being open-source means you’re not locked into a proprietary system. Just ensure you have enough storage space for your photo collection.

I’ve been in a similar situation, and found Notion to be a fantastic solution. It’s incredibly versatile and can handle bulk imports, including photos. What I love about Notion is its flexibility - you can create databases that work just like spreadsheets, but with added functionality.

For your specific needs, you can import your Excel file into Notion, then use their bulk upload feature for photos. The photos can be linked to specific entries easily. The interface is clean and user-friendly, much like Airtable.

One thing to note - while Notion’s free plan is generous, you might need a paid plan for larger databases and file storage. But in my experience, the cost is worth it for the functionality and ease of use. It’s become my go-to for managing complex data with visual elements.
