Hey everyone! I’m new to the *arr scene and just got prowlarr, radarr, and sonarr up and running. It’s been great so far, but I’m struggling to find a good Discord bot for integration. I tried requestrr, but it keeps opening a terminal window that I can’t close without shutting down the app.
What I’m looking for is a Discord bot that can run in the background on Windows 10, similar to how the *arr apps work. Ideally, it would run as a Windows service or something like that. I’d prefer not to use Docker if possible.
Has anyone found a solid solution for this? What’s the current go-to option for Discord integration with *arr apps? Any recommendations or tips would be super helpful. Thanks in advance!
I’ve been using the Overseerr bot for a while now, and it’s been a game-changer for my *arr setup. It runs smoothly in the background on Windows 10 without any pesky terminal windows popping up. The integration with Radarr and Sonarr is seamless, and it’s got a user-friendly interface for managing requests through Discord.
One thing I particularly like is how it handles user permissions. You can set different roles for who can request what, which helps keep things organized. It also provides nice notifications when content is downloaded or becomes available.
The setup was pretty straightforward, and there’s good documentation available if you run into any issues. Just make sure you’ve got Node.js installed on your system before you start.
Overall, I’d highly recommend giving Overseerr a try. It’s been reliable and feature-rich in my experience, and it might be just what you’re looking for to round out your *arr ecosystem.
Have you considered trying out Ombi? It’s been my go-to for *arr integration with Discord for a while now. Unlike some other options, it runs smoothly as a Windows service, so no annoying terminal windows to deal with.
The setup is pretty straightforward, and it interfaces well with Radarr, Sonarr, and even Lidarr if you’re into music. What I really appreciate is its user management system - you can control who requests what, set quotas, and even have an approval process if you want.
One thing to note: make sure you’re running the latest version, as older ones had some stability issues on Windows. Also, the web interface is quite handy for managing things outside of Discord.
It’s not perfect - sometimes updates can be a bit finicky - but overall, it’s been the most reliable solution I’ve found for Windows without resorting to Docker.
hey, have u tried tautulli? it’s pretty solid for *arr stuff. runs nice in the background on windows, no annoying popups. setup’s easy and it plays well with discord. got some cool features like user stats and notifications. might be worth checkin out if the others aren’t cuttin it for ya.
